For drivers using the WastePos Driver app, and anyone with a WastePos account.
WastePos has no public sign-up. Accounts are created by an employer, and drivers using the mobile app do not have an account at all — they enter a trip code issued for a single job. This page explains what is held about you, what we can delete on request, and what we are required to keep.
Email privacy@wastepos.com with the subject Data deletion request. To let us find your records, include:
We acknowledge requests within 7 working days and complete them within 30 days.
Detailed location trails are pruned 30 days after a trip finishes, and the driver's personal details attached to that trip are scrubbed at the same time. Nothing needs to be requested for this — it happens on a schedule. What remains is a summary of the job itself: the trip code, the vehicle registration, and the start and end times.
Collection records — the delivery orders and weighbridge tickets that record waste being collected, weighed and disposed of — are kept for seven years from the date of collection. Malaysian tax law requires it, and the same applies to records that have been cancelled: a cancelled record is marked cancelled and retained, not removed.
These are records of a business transaction between companies. They identify a vehicle and a load, not your movements, and they contain no location trail. We cannot delete them on request, and no operator of this system can.
Under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010, WastePos acts as a data processor on behalf of your employer, who is the data user. In practice that means some requests are ones your employer must decide on. Write to us anyway — we will act on what is ours to act on, and tell you plainly and promptly if any part has to go to your employer instead.
